Cleaning Cooling Air Intakes

NOTIFICATION 

Radiator surface (vanes) dirty/soiled 

• Engine overheating due to lack of cooling performance 
• Risk of damage to radiator surface 
  • → Clean radiator surface regularly.
  • → Do not use a high-pressure steam cleaner.

1. Check the cooling air ducts and radiator for external contamination, e.g. leaves.
2. Carefully clean the cooling air guides and radiator surfaces through the openings in the front apron using a vacuum cleaner and the > VAS 6929 - Vacuum-cleaner nozzle  if necessary.
3. Never use a high-pressure steam cleaner.

   High-pressure steam cleaners can cause additional particles of dirt to attach to the radiator surfaces and the engine can overheat due to reduced cooling performance.
