Checking Engine Coolant Level And Antifreeze Content
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
WARNING:
Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
- → Let the fluid cool down.
- → Wear personal protective gear.
Information
- The coolant filled in at the factory is intended for lifetime cooling and, thus, need not be changed.
- Open cap -1-
on the coolant reservoir in the luggage compartment and remove it.
Coolant reservoir
- Have a suitable container ready for collecting coolant.
- Check antifreeze content using antifreeze tester -1-
.
If it is below -35° Celsius , correct the antifreeze content by increasing the proportion of pure coolant accordingly.

Information
- Only use Genuine Porsche coolant.
- Never mix coolant with other coolants.
Information
- Coolant must only be added if a warning appears in the instrument cluster!
- Then add coolant only once up to the maximum marking.
- When the engine is started, the coolant level drops immediately. This is normal and more coolant does not have to be added!
- Check coolant level and only add coolant if a warning appears in the instrument cluster.
If necessary, add coolant only once up to the maximum marking -2- !
- 4.1 The coolant level must never exceed the maximum marking. If this is the case, extract coolant.
