Initializing And Calibrating Steering-Angle Sensor

Information 

The steering-angle sensor must be calibrated using the menu options in > 9818 - PIWIS Tester II under the specified test conditions:

  1. The chassis is adjusted according to Porsche specifications.
  2. Switch on ignition.
  3. Turn wheels to straight-ahead position (steering wheel in centre position).
  4. Turn the steering wheel out of the straight-ahead position (approx. 6° to the left/right) in accordance with the instructions on PIWIS Tester II. Turn the wheels back to the straight-ahead position and follow the instructions on PIWIS Tester II.
  5. Using PIWIS Tester II, select »Steering wheel electronics« »Maintenance/repairs«>>Calibrate steering-angle sensor« in the control unit overview.

    After successful calibration, the stored fault code is erased from the fault memory. The PSM indicator light in the instrument cluster goes out.

  6. Re-teach electric steering lock settings.
