Removing Rear Disc Brake Pads

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Unclip, release and disconnect electric plug connection for brake pad wear indicator -3-  .
  2. Remove securing clip and take out retaining pin by pulling it inwards -arrow-  .

    Information 

    If the brake pads cannot be removed easily, the brake pistons must be pressed back slightly using a suitable tool (e.g. an assembly wedge) in order to get over the edge of the brake disc. To prevent damage, do not insert hard objects between the brake pad and brake disc! 

  3. Remove springe and remove brake pads -4-  together with the brake pad wear indicator.

    Information 

    If necessary, remove a little brake fluid from the reservoir by suction in order to prevent an overflow when the disc brake pads are pushed back

    Make sure not lo damage the rubber boots on the brake pistons.

  4. Press brake pistons back evenly as far as possible using the > T10145 - piston reset tool. > Resetting brake pistons

  5. Check brake discs for wear and replace them if necessary

    > 465302 CHECKING REAR BRAKE DISCS - WEAR ASSESSMENT 

    For vehicles with PCCB: 

    > 465402 CHECKING REAR PCCB BRAKE DISCS (WEAR ASSESSMENT)
