Removing Double Sealing Ring

Pull off short halfshaft flange.
1. 1.1 > T10037 - Puller-1- must be secured to the short halfshaft flange with two screws (M10 x 1) -2- .
  CAUTION: Fine thread!
2. 1.2 Pull off short halfshaft flange.

Drive out the long halfshaft flange -1- using a plastic hammer.

Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the differential housing cover -2- and remove differential housing cover -2- .

Lift the differential -1- out of the housing.

- Be careful with the spacer ring behind the bearing ring during removal and installation.
- The original bearing ring must be re-installed.
Remove bearing ring -1- with spacer ring -2- .

Remove double sealing ring using > VAS 251 611 - Internal puller-1- and > VAS 251 623 - Counter support-2- .

Information
- Carefully remove sealing ring to prevent bearing damage.
- An assembly wedge or a commercially available screwdriver, for example, is ideal as a tool.
Remove sealing ring -1- on the housing neck using a suitable tool.
