Installing Tie-Rod Ball

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Information

Clean the thread of the tie-rod ball before screwing the tie-rod ball onto the tie rod

To prevent any damage when screwing the tie-rod ball onto the tie rod, make sure in particular that the thread engages uniformly

Screw on the tie-rod ball in accordance with the number of turns you wrote down during removal. Then turn it as far as the marking.

This is not  a substitute for a later suspension alignment, but merely avoids the need for an approximate adjustment of the steering trapeze.

Information

Following installation, seal the threaded joint securing tie rod to wheel bearing housing with wax as shown in -Illustration-. Use Pfinder AP14/4 for this (see PIWIS Parts Catalog - PET).
