Installing Lower Trailing Arm

Information
- Check bushings/boots of trailing arm for cracks and signs of damage.
- Ball joint taper must be free of grease.
- Replace screws with torque angle and lock nuts.
Information
Following installation, seal the threaded joint securing lower trailing arm to wheel bearing housing with wax as shown in Illustration- , Use Pfinder AP14/4 for this (see PI WIS Parts Information - PET)
Applying wax on marked area
- Installation is performed in reverse order.
Observe specified tightening torques:
Lower trailing arm to front-axle cross member: > Initial tightening 70 Nm (52 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 180°
Control arm [diagonal arm) to lower trailing arm: > Tightening torque 160 Nm (118 ftlb.)
Lower trailing arm to wheel bearing housing: > Tightening torque 85 Nm (63 ftlb.)
