Subsequent Work For Diagnostic Scopes

Information 

  1. Reset sensor wheel adaptation:
    1. 1.1 Connect PIWIS Tester  to the vehicle.
    2. 1.2 Select Engine electronics (DME) control unit. 
    3. 1.3 Select Maintenance/repairs  tab.
    4. 1.4 Perform Sensor wheel adaptation reset. 
    5. 1.5 Follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester. 

    All 981 and 991 order types except GTx variants 

  2. Perform sensor wheel adaptation with an adaptation drive  .
    1. 2.1 Get a second person to check the PIWIS Tester  while you are driving.
    2. 2.2 Select Engine electronics (DME) control unit. 
    3. 2.3 Select the "Actual values/input signals  " tab.
    4. 2.4 Select the group "General  ".
    5. 2.5 Select the actual value "Engine speed  ".
    6. 2.6 Select the "M_Misfiring  " group.
    7. 2.7 Select the actual value "M090_Sensor wheel adaptation  ".

      Value "1" = adapted and (value "0" = not adapted).

    8. 2.8 Select the "Misfiring  " group.
    9. 2.9 All 991 order types except GT3 variants and Speedster 

      Perform sensor wheel adaptation with an adaptation drive  .

      1. 2.9.1 Note the actual value "Segment adaptation for rough running, status  ".

        Value "0" = adapted and (value "2" = not adapted)

      2. 2.9.2 Bring combustion engine to operating temperature.
      3. 2.9.3 Perform adaptation drive until M090 actual value  displays " " → Adaptation is complete  .
      4. 2.9.4 Drive with brief acceleration.
      5. 2.9.5 Then sufficiently long overrun phase (accelerator pedal not pressed, no fuel injection).
  3. GTx variants 

    Perform sensor wheel adaptation with an adaptation drive  .

    Condition:  Engine at operating temperature

    1. 3.1 Performing fast adaptation: 

      Once overrun phase (accelerator pedal not pressed for 7 seconds, no fuel injection)

      Engine speed 3, 000-1, 300 rpm.

    2. 3.2 Detailed adaptation procedure: 

      Condition:  Perform the following procedure at least 11 times until the adaptation status changes.

      Get a second person to check the PIWIS Tester  while you are driving.

    3. 3.3 Select Engine electronics (DME) control unit. 
    4. 3.4 Select the "Actual values/input signals  " tab.
    5. 3.5 Select the group "General  ".
    6. 3.6 Select the actual value "Engine speed  ".
    7. 3.7 Select the "M_Misfiring  " group.
    8. 3.8 Select the actual value "M090_Sensor wheel adaptation  ".

      Value "1" = adapted and (value "0" = not adapted).

      Information:  This actual value always shows "0" when the engine is not running. This actual value is only relevant when the engine is running.

    9. 3.9 Perform sensor wheel adaptation with an adaptation drive  .

      Drive with brief acceleration.

      Then overrun phase for at least 3 seconds (accelerator pedal not pressed, no fuel injection).

      Engine speed 3, 000-1, 300 rpm

      1. 3.9.1 Perform adaptation drive until M090 actual value  displays " " → Adaptation is complete  .
