Calibrating Fuel Level Sender

WARNING:
Highly inflammable or explosive materials
- Danger of fire or explosion
- → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
- → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
- → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
- → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
- → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.

- → If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
Information
- Calibration of the fuel level sender is required after replacing the fuel tank, the fuel level sender or the instrument cluster. Calibrate the sender - after replacing the instrument cluster - only if the function Read out values cannot be performed!
- The fuel level sender does not have to be calibrated if the battery was disconnected or a plug connection on the instrument cluster or sender was disconnected. The values remain stored in the instrument cluster.
- A range on remaining fuel of less than 15 km is not displayed in the instrument cluster.
- Empty the fuel tank.

- Wait for a while (approx. 1 minute) to allow the fuel-level sensor to settle down to the level.
- Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition. >> to continue.
- Select the required vehicle type.
- Select Instrument cluster control unit, then press >>.
- Select the Maintenance/repairs menu and press >>.
- Select the Fuel tank calibration menu and press >> to start.
- The message Fuel tank calibration completed successfully appears on the Tester screen.
- Press F12 to exit.
- Fill the vehicle with fuel and check the fuel gauge in the instrument cluster. Wait a few minutes. Fuel gauge shows full.
- Change terminals.
- 11.1 Switch off the ignition.
- 11.2 Wait approx. 30 seconds.
- 11.3 Switch on the ignition.
- Check the fuel gauge in the instrument cluster again. Fuel gauge shows full.
