Checking Engine-Oil Level

Prerequisites for correct oil level measurement using the multi-function display in the instrument cluster: 

  1. It is also possible to check the oil level when the engine is cold if the vehicle was parked overnight. 
  2. Check the engine-oil level when the engine is at operating temperature: 
    1. 2.1 Leave the engine running until the engine oil temperature is at least 90° Celsius.
    2. 2.2 If the check is started before this, the following message will appear in the display: "No information on the oil level is available at present  ".
    3. 2.3 Switch off engine.
  3. Call up the Oil measurement  function in the multi-function display.

    Information 

    • The oil level must be between the Min and Max markings. 
    • Correct the engine-oil level if necessary and check it again. 
  4. Read off the oil level on the segment display in the instrument cluster.
    1. 4.1 The permitted oil level is between the Min and Max markings.

    2. Minimum oil level
    3. Below minimum oil level
    4. Maximum oil level exceeded
  5. The oil level must be corrected accordingly if necessary.
