Installing ATF Pan
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
Information
Always use a new ATF pan and new aluminium screws.
The sealing faces of the transmission and ATF pan must be clean and dry for installation.
Before screwing in the new screws, blow out the threaded bore thoroughly with compressed air. Have a clean, lint-free cloth ready to collect emerging particles of dirt.
Information
- Aluminium screws must always be replaced.
- Aluminium screws must be secured using the yield-strength procedure.
- To ensure that the screws are tightened uniformly, the specified tightening setting "light, medium or hard" must be used.
- The threshold torque (initial tightening) must be set on the > 9768 - electronic torque wrench from 2 - 100 Nm (1.5 - 74 ftlb.) when tightening using the yield-strength procedure.
- Coat the sealing ring on the intake snorkel on the ATF pan with oil.
- Fit the ATF pan on the transmission. Make sure that the sealing ring on the intake connection of the ATF pan is touching the intake duct of the electrohydraulic control mechanism -arrow-
.
- Press the ATF pan onto the transmission until the sealing ring on the intake connection clicks into the intake duct of the control mechanism and the ATF pan is flat on the transmission.
- Fit fastening screws -1 to 13- and tighten to the specified torque according to the specified sequence. > Initial tightening + yield strength 2.4 Nm (1.75 ftlb.)
