Removing Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)

DANGER 

Vehicle can fall down 

• Risk of squashing or crushing 
• Risk of damage to the vehicle 
  • forward Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
  • forward Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
  • forward Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
  • forward Raise the vehicle only at the jacking points provided.
  • forward The outer jacking points should be used primarily.

1. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for pulse sender -1-  .

2. Release housing for electric plug connections -1-  -A - and disconnect it -arrows B-  .

3. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1 and 3-  .
4. Unclip fixing clip -2-  and move electric line aside.

5. Have suitable aids ready for collecting coolant.
6. Clamp both coolant hoses -2-  using > 3094 - hose clamp. 
7. Only loosen spring band clamp -1-  on coolant hose supply line -2-  .
8. Only remove coolant hose supply line -2-  on the transmission oil cooler at the left and close off openings.

9. Clamp both coolant hoses -2-  using > 3094 - hose clamp. 
10. Only loosen spring band clamp -3-  on coolant hose supply line -2-  .
11. Only remove coolant hose supply line -2-  on the transmission oil cooler at the right and close off openings.

12. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  and remove transverse strut -2-  .

    NOTIFICATION 

    Transmission jack positioned incorrectly. 

    • Risk of damage to ATF pan. 
      • forward Use the entire surface of the ATF pan as the contact surface.
13. Position transmission jack under the transmission and secure it.
14. Position unit elevating platform -2-  with a suitable foam support -1-  under the engine.

15. Carefully lower the transmission and engine until fastening screw -3-  is accessible.
16. Unscrew fastening screw -3-  .
17. Remove bracket with change-over valves and set it aside.

18. Clamp coolant hose -1-  ahead of and behind vacuum valve for transmission oil cooler return -2-  using > 3094 - hose clamp.

19. Disconnect coolant hoses -1 and 2-  for transmission cooling.
    1. 19.1 Loosen and disconnect plug-in coupling -3-  on the left heat exchanger.
    2. 19.2 Pull off spring clamps on the plug connections -Arrows-  and disconnect coolant hoses.
    3. 19.3 Check O-rings and replace them if necessary.

    NOTIFICATION 

    Mechanical overload of components 

    • Component will be damaged irreparably 
      • forward Observe guidelines for assembly and disassembly
20. Remove Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
    1. 20.1 Loosen and unscrew fastening screws in the following sequence: -1-  and -2-  , then -3-  and -5-  , and finally -4-  .

       Information 

       Check that the guide sleeves between the transmission flange and engine flange remain in the engine flange.

    2. 20.2 Gradually guide Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) out towards the rear and downwards by lowering the transmission jack.
