Installing Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)

DANGER
Vehicle can fall down
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle
- forward Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
- forward Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
- forward Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
- forward Raise the vehicle only at the jacking points provided.
- forward The outer jacking points should be used primarily.
NOTIFICATION
Engine housing overload.
- Risk of engine damage if housing breaks.
- forward Observe specified loosening and tightening sequence!
- forward Loosening sequence: Loosen screws from the bottom up.
- forward Tightening sequence: Tighten screws from top to bottom.

- Position Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
- 1.1 Mount Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) on the engine and gearbox jack.
Information
Check that the guide sleeves between the transmission flange and engine flange remain in the engine flange.
- 1.2 Make sure that the guide sleeves are in the engine flange.
- 1.3 Lift Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) as far as required using the engine and gearbox jack until the bracket with changeover valves can be positioned.
Make sure that no lines are trapped between the transmission flange and engine flange.
- 1.4 Position bracket with change-over valves.
- 1.5 Fit fastening screw -3- and tighten to > Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.6 ftlb.) .
- 1.6 Adjust the engine and gearbox jack bracket so that the transmission flange and engine flange are parallel.
- 1.7 Fit Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
- 1.1 Mount Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) on the engine and gearbox jack.
- Fit fastening screws in the following sequence: -1-
and -2-
, then -4-
, and finally -3-
and -5-
.
Information
Replace flange screws if necessary.
- Tighten fastening screws from top to bottom to > Tightening torque 85 Nm (63 ftlb.) .
- Further installation is performed in reverse order.
Fastening screws on transverse strut > Initial tightening 35 Nm (25.8 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 60° .
Information
After replacing the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) or after carrying out repairs in the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), the transmission control unit must be calibrated using the PIWIS Tester.
