Installing Transmission

DANGER
Vehicle can fall down
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle
- forward Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
- forward Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
- forward Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
- forward Raise the vehicle only at the jacking points provided.
- forward The outer jacking points should be used primarily.
NOTIFICATION
Engine housing overload.
- Risk of engine damage if housing breaks.
- forward Observe specified loosening and tightening sequence!
- forward Loosening sequence: Loosen screws from the bottom up.
- forward Tightening sequence: Tighten screws from top to bottom.
- Mount transmission on the transmission jack.
Information
Check that the guide sleeves between the transmission flange and engine flange remain in the engine flange.
- Make sure that the guide sleeves are located in the engine flange.
- Adjust the transmission jack bracket so that the transmission flange and engine flange are parallel.
- Mount transmission.
Information
Replace flange screws if necessary.
- Fit fastening screws in the following sequence: -4 and 5- , then -3 and 6- , and finally -1 and 2- .
- Fastening screws securing transmission to engine > Tightening torque 85 Nm (63 ftlb.) .
- Further installation is performed in reverse order.
Fastening screws on transverse strut > Initial tightening 35 Nm (25.8 ftlb.) , > Final tightening + 60° .
