Installing Shift And Selector Cables

- Do not remove assembly and transport sleeves that are fitted on the adjustment pins of the shift cable until just before you engage the adjustment pins in the gearshift bracket.

Shift to neutral while installing the shift and selector cables.
Information
- Do not kink or roll up shift and selector cables.
- Only store shift and selector cables in elongated position; do not roll up.
- Route shift and selector cables -1-
without kinks.
- 1.1 Guide shift and selector cables -1-
from the passenger compartment through the engine compartment to the transmission.
Check that the cables are routed correctly and without tension so that no chafing occurs!
- 1.2 Secure shift and selector cables -1- on the body.

from the passenger compartment through the engine compartment to the transmission.
- Secure shift and selector cables -3-
on the manual transmission at the right.
- 2.1 Engage shift and selector cables -3- on the support -2- at the right.
- 2.2 Press ball joint -1- onto the exterior shift mechanism.
- 2.3 Check that the support -2- and ball joint -1- are fitted securely.
- Secure shift and selector cables -3-
on the manual transmission at the left.
- 3.1 Engage shift and selector cables -3- on the support -2- at the left.
- 3.2 Press ball joint -1- onto the exterior shift mechanism.
- 3.3 Check that the support -2- and ball joint -1- are fitted securely.
- Secure shift and selector cables -2-
on the support -1-

- Fit shift and selector cables on the gearshift bracket and adjust as required.
