Before Starting Suspension Alignment: Prerequisites

To exclude erroneous measurements, the following preconditions must be met:
- Empty vehicle weight according to DIN 70020, i.e. vehicle in ready-to-drive condition with full fuel tank and including tools but without driver or additional weights.
- Joint and wheel-bearing play OK (wheel-beam g play cannot be adjusted). Check joint play if necessary.

- Visually inspect axle parts (control arms, springs, dampers, mountings and rubber mountings, tie rods, axle shafts, axle boots).
- The tread depth on one axle must not differ by more than 2 mm.
- Tyre pressure in accordance with specifications
- Strictly comply with maintenance intervals for measuring equipment and measuring platform.
- Perform vehicle alignment only in the sequence specified in the Service Information.
- Centre steering column.
- 1.1 Vehicles with manually adjustable steering column: Loosen lever, estimate and Centre and lock lever again.
- 1.2 Vehicles with electrically adjustable steering column:
- Extend 3x
- Retract 1x
- Extend 1x
- Raise 1x
- Lower 1x
