Removing Brake Master Cylinder

Information
When carrying out work during which fluids can escape, electric plug connections to be disconnected must remain locked and connected for as long as possible. This prevents fluid from getting onto electric contacts and causing corrosion.

Any escaping brake fluid must be removed immediately. If necessary, rinse contacts with water and dry them.
- Have suitable aids ready to soak up emerging fluids and have stoppers ready for closing off the line connections.
- Release and disconnect electric plug connection for brake fluid reservoir -1- .
- Disconnect return hose.
- 3.1 Press release buttons and pull off return hose -2- .
- 3.2 Close off connections using stoppers and move return hose -2- aside.

- Disconnect brake lines.
- 4.1 Place suitable aids under the brake master cylinder and brake booster -arrow- to soak up emerging brake fluid.
- 4.2 Unscrew union nuts -1- .
- 4.3 Pull off brake lines -2- and close off connections using stoppers.
- 4.4 Set brake lines -2- aside.

- Remove the brake master cylinder.
- 5.1 Unscrew screws on the brake master cylinder -1- .
- 5.2 Guide the brake master cylinder -2- forward at the top.
