Installing Rotor Position Sensor

WARNING: Incorrect handling of high-voltage components
  • Electric shock

    → Only appropriately trained and authorized persons may work on high-voltage vehicles and components.

    → Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.

    → Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.

    → Always use insulated tools, such as an > VAS 6883 - insulated tool set  when working on these parts.

    → Observe general warning notices for working on the high-voltage system.

    > 2X00IN GENERAL WARNING NOTICES FOR WORKING ON THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM

  1. Replace gasket -1-  .

  2. Fit rotor position sensor -3-  and tighten new  screws -2-  evenly with > Tightening torque 7 Nm (5.2 ftlb.)  .

    Rotor position sensor

    1. 2.1 Connect and lock electric plug connection for rotor position sensor -1-  .

      The electric plug connection must engage perceptibly.

  3. Only V6 Hybrid:  Position heat shield -2-  and fit and tighten screws -1-  .

    > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

    1. 3.1 For vehicles with particle filter:  Fit and tighten screw -3-  .
