Installing Electric Motor With Separating Clutch

    → Only appropriately trained and authorized persons may work on high-voltage vehicles and components.

    → Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.

    → Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.

    → Always use insulated tools, such as an > VAS 6883 - insulated tool set  when working on these parts. Observe general warning notices for working on the high-voltage system.

  • Risk of squashing

    → Wear personal protective gear.

    → Get someone to help if necessary.

Information 

When replacing the electric motor, a new sealing plug should also be installed.

First check whether the sealing plug is currently available as a spare part. Only then should you replace the sealing plug.

  1. Check sealing plug -1-  for damage and replace it if necessary.

  2. Replace seal -1-  .

  3. Grease all splines -1-  on the double clutch transmission with a light coating of Optimol Olista Longtime 3EP (Part No. 000.043.024.00) in the direction of the splines.

    Information 

    New screws must be used.

  4. Fit electric motor -1-  on transmission flange.

    Information 

    The help of another person is required.

    1. 4.1 Carefully guide electric motor -1-  using > VAS 6100 - workshop crane  over the straight pins -2-  onto the transmission flange and fit it.

    2. 4.2 Screw in two fastening screws to secure the electric motor and prevent it from falling down.
    3. 4.3 Remove > 9700 - transport eyebolts  from the electric motor.
    4. 4.4 Screw in and tighten fastening screws in the following sequence -1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6-  > Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.) + 45°

    5. 4.5 Screw in and tighten fastening screws in the following sequence -7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14-  > Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.) + 45°
