Remove E-Box

WARNING: Incorrect handling of high-voltage components 
  • Electric shock

    → Only appropriately trained and authorized persons may work on high-voltage vehicles and components.

    → Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.

    → Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.

    → Always use insulated tools, such as an > VAS 6883 - insulated tool set  when working on these parts.

    → Observe general warning notices for working on the high-voltage system.

    > WM, 2X00IN GENERAL WARNING NOTES FOR WORKING ON THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM

  1. Perform tests for verifying absence of electric charge and insulation resistance tests using > VAS 6558A - High-voltage testing module  , > VAS 6558/9-7 - High-voltage test adapter HVR 40  and > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3  .

  2. Loosen retaining frame at the top -2-  .
    1. 2.1 Unscrew fastening screws -1-  .

    2. 2.2 Unscrew fastening screws -3 and 4-  .

  3. Remove pressure accumulator with load distributor plate and retaining frame.
    1. 3.1 Unscrew fastening screws -5-  .

    2. 3.2 Unscrew fastening screws -6-  .

    3. 3.3 Remove load distributor plate together with lower bar from the high-voltage battery and set it aside.
    4. 3.4 Remove retaining frame together with the pressure accumulator from the high-voltage battery and set it aside.
  4. Remove E-box.
    1. 4.1 Unscrew fastening screws using > VAS 691 003A - High-voltage tool set TORX®  . The exposed threads must be cleaned. Replace micro-self-locking screws.

    2. 4.2 > 9924 - Centring pins-3-  must now be screwed into the free bores.

    3. 4.3 Unscrew and remove fastening screw -4-  .

      Replace micro-self-locking screw.

    4. 4.4 Carefully disconnect E-box from the high-voltage battery.
