Removing Supply Line (Section From Fuel Tank To Engine)

WARNING: Highly inflammable or explosive materials

Danger of fire or explosion
→ Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.

→ Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.

→ Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

→ Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.

→ Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.

→ Ventilate the work area well.

→ Never ingest or inhale.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Do not smoke, eat or drink in the work area.

Information

Escaping fuel must be soaked up using suitable binding material.
The fuel system must be depressurized before starting work on it.
Only work on the fuel system in well-ventilated rooms.
Any seals that were removed must always be replaced.
Never use sealant containing silicone or silicone spray when the injection system is open. Traces of silicone drawn in by the engine are not combusted and damage the oxygen sensors.

Information

Plastic lines must not be kinked or bent as this can make them brittle and start to leak.

Have suitable aids ready to collect emerging coolant and have suitable stoppers ready for closing off the coolant supply line and coolant hose.

Unclip supply line -1- .
1. 3.1 Unclip supply line -1- from holder -2- .
2. 3.2 Remove holder -3- and unclip supply line -1- (-arrow- ).

Remove holder -1- .
1. 4.1 Unclip supply line -2- from holders -1- (-arrow- ).

Removing holder
Remove reinforcement strut -2- and cover -5- .
1. 5.1 Unscrew fastening screws -1- and remove reinforcement strut -2- .
2. 5.2 Unclip supply line -3- with holder -4- from the cover -5- .
3. 5.3 Unscrew fastening screws -6- and remove cover -5- .

Remove holder -1- .
1. 6.1 Unclip supply line -2- from holders -1- (-arrow- ).

Removing holder
Pull off coolant hose -2- .
1. 7.1 Loosen spring band clamp -1- using a suitable tool and pull off coolant hose -2- .
  1. 7.1.1 Collect emerging coolant.
2. 7.2 Close off coolant hose -2- and connection opening using stoppers.

Remove supply line -2- .
1. 8.1 Remove holder -1- .
2. 8.2 Unclip supply line -2- from holders -1- (-arrow- ).
3. 8.3 Release and disconnect plug-in coupling -3- .
  1. 8.3.1 Collect escaping fuel.
4. 8.4 Close off supply line -2- and connection opening using stoppers.
5. 8.5 Carefully guide out supply line -2- .
