Checking ATF

Information
To ensure that the transmission is filled correctly, the vehicle must be horizontal on the lifting platform.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove cover for front underbody.

- Up to PIWIS Tester release 35.600:
- 3.1 Selector lever in position P.
- 3.2 Start the engine.
- 3.3 Deactivate PSM.
Information
Keep the brake pedal pressed for the entire duration while the selector lever is engaged in position D.
- 3.4 Press and hold the brake pedal and engage the selector lever in position D.
- 3.5 Engage 1st gear and Reverse using Tip mode and hold for 10 seconds each at an engine speed of 1, 500 rpm.
- 3.6 Read out the ATF temperature using PIWIS Tester 3
and check whether the test temperature is reached.
- 3.6.1 Select 'Transmission electronics (PDK)' control unit and confirm.
- 3.6.2 Select the 'Actual values/input signals' submenu and confirm your selection.
- 3.6.3 Select the 'CAN output signals for transmission sump temperature' submenu and confirm your selection.
- 3.6.4 Move the selector lever to position P, accelerate to an engine speed of 2, 000 rpm and maintain this until the test temperature is reached.
> Temperature 40°C + 5°C
- From PIWIS Tester release 35.800:
- 4.1 Start ATF filling routine using the PIWIS Tester.
- 4.2 Select 'Transmission electronics (PDK)' control unit and confirm.
- 4.3 Select the 'Maintenance/repairs' submenu and confirm.
- 4.4 Select the 'Oil filling' submenu and confirm.
- 4.5 Follow the instructions on the PIWIS Tester.
- 4.6 If necessary, move the selector lever to position P, accelerate to an engine speed of 2, 000 rpm
and maintain this until the test temperature is reached.
> Temperature 40°C + 5°C
- Stop the engine and wait for 1 minute.
- Place a collection pan under the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).WARNING: Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
→ Let the fluid cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.

- Unscrew the oil inspection plug -3-

Unscrewing oil inspection plug
- Check the oil level.
- If ATF emerges within 15 minutes , wait until the oil thread breaks off, then screw in and tighten a new oil inspection plug > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
- If ATF does not emerge within 15 minutes , the ATF must be topped up. Continue with topping up ATF (see section on "Topping up ATF").
- Screw in and tighten the oil inspection plug -3-
> Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

- Lower the vehicle.
