Loosening Main Wire Harness In Right Wheel Housing

NOTE: Incorrect handling of main wire harness

Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Release and disconnect electric plug connection on the front air-spring strut at the top.
> 433019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT AIR-SPRING STRUT
Release and disconnect electric plug connection for coolant reservoir.
> 194019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COOLANT RESERVOIR
Unclip line bracket -1- from wire harness for spring strut -2- and guide it into the wheel housing.

Unclipping line bracket

Disconnect electric connectors from holders.

4.1 Unclip electric plug connections -1- from holders.
4.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1- .

4.3 Open line bracket -2- and disengage electric line -3- .

Disconnecting electric connectors

Release and disconnect electric plug connection on cooling fan housing (radiator frame).
> 192019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COOLING FAN HOUSING (RADIATOR FRAME)
Unclip fuse carrier -1- and relay carrier -2- from holders.

Unclipping fuse carrier and relay carrier
Remove positive cable from external power connection.
> 974519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WIRE HARNESS FOR STARTER BATTERY (SECTION FROM EXTERNAL POWER CONNECTION TO GENERATOR)
Unscrew screws -1- and -2- and remove positive lines -2- from carriers.

Release and disconnect electric plug connection for horn.
> 905019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HORN
Unclip line bracket -1- from electric line for horn -2- and guide it into the wheel housing.

Unclipping line bracket
Release and disconnect electric plug connection on airbag sensor at the lock carrier.
> 695119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIRBAG SENSOR
Disconnect electric plug connections and loosen wire harness from front apron.
> 631519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT APRON
Release and disconnect electric plug connection on the headlight.
> WM, 941519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LED MODULE FAN
Release and disconnect electric plug connection on front angle sensor for headlight beam adjustment (HBA).
> WM, 947819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT ANGLE SENSOR FOR HEADLIGHT BEAM ADJUSTMENT (HBA)
Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1- from spring strut and brake.

Disconnect the electric plug connections
Unscrew nut -1- and remove ground line -2- .

Unclip line bracket -1- from electric line -2- and guide it into the wheel housing.

Loosen main wire harness from cable duct.

18.1 Unscrew and remove screw -1- .
18.2 Loosen locking lugs -arrows- and remove cable cover -2- .

18.3 Remove main wire harness from cable duct.

Release and disconnect electric plug connection on circulating pump for auxiliary heater.

Release and disconnect electric plug connection on ignition module for lid.

Unclip line bracket -1- from main wire harness -2- .

Remove grommet from the body.

26.1 Press coolant hoses aside until the nuts -1- are accessible.

26.2 Unscrew nuts -1- and remove holder -2- with hose from bolts.
