Installing Rear Side Member (Section)

Information 

• Before final assembly make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.

1. Install rear side member (section) and check that it fits perfectly. Check gap dimensions. → WM 5X00IN GAP DIMENSIONS
   1. 1.1. Apply adhesive to the areas marked in yellow. → 5X00IN21 WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE → Application depth: 3.0 mm

2. Resistance spot-weld the rear side member (section) -2-  and corner plate -1-  .

3. Install and secure rear side member (section) -2-  with corner plate -1-  .
   1. 3.1. Apply a full weld to the area using inert gas.
   2. 3.2. Resistance spot-weld area -A-  .

4. Resistance spot-weld the corner plate.
