Removing C-Pillar Reinforcement

  1. Remove C-pillar reinforcement.

    Information 

    Loosen connection points on one side only. Do not damage the sheet-metal panel underneath.

    1. 1.1. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill; see Gr. 2.4; Workshop Equipment Manual Nr.129  .

  2. Remove side panel section -1-  .

    Information 

    Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

    1. 2.1. Mark and make cuts. → Distance: 100 mm 

      Information 

      Loosen connection points on one side only. Do not damage the sheet-metal panel underneath.

    2. 2.2. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill; see Gr. 2.4; Workshop Equipment Manual Nr.129  .

  3. Heat bonding areas.
    1. 3.1. Remove side panel -1 - section.

    Information 

    Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

    Information 

    Mark cut Y in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 3 cm with respect to the body.

  4. Mark and make cuts. → Distance: 90 mm

    1. 4.1. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill; see Gr. 2.4; Workshop Equipment Manual Nr.129  .

  5. Heat bonding areas.
    1. 5.1. Remove C-pillar reinforcement.
