Removing Brake Shoes

- Brake shoes
- Adjustment device
- Compression springs
- Tension springs
- Loosen adjustment device -2-
with a screwdriver. → Adjustment device
WARNING: Preloaded or pressurized components
- Risk of injury (e.g. crushing or bruising) when removing and installing springs.
→ Do not reach into the danger area.
→ Relieve the tension on components before starting work.
→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.
→ Wear protective gloves and goggles.
→ Be very careful when working on the brake system.
- Remove compression springs -3- . → Compression springs
- Disengage both tension springs -4- . → Tension springs
- Remove brake shoes using adjustment device -1 and 2- .
- Secure actuator for parking brake with a tie-wrap -arrow- .
