Loosening Main Wire Harness In Passenger Compartment At The Left
- Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.
→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.
→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.
- Risk of damage to optical waveguide
→ Observe the requirements for working with and installing optical waveguides.
Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!
- Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work .
- Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation .
- Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts .
- Release and disconnect electric plug connection on airbag sensor on inner wheel arch at the rear left. → 695119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIRBAG SENSOR
- Release and disconnect electric plug connection on seat-belt pretensioner on driver's side. → 691119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT THREE-POINT BELT
- Disconnect electric plug connection for wire harness for rear left door in the B-pillar.
- 3.1. Lever off locking mechanism for electric plug connection -1- using a plastic wedge in an upward direction -a- and pull off electric plug connection.
- 3.2. Release electric plug connection -2-

) and press it into the B-pillar.
Disconnecting electric plug connection for wire harness for rear left door (rear right door shown)
- Disconnect electric plug connection for wire harness for front left door at the bottom of the A-pillar.
- 4.1. Lever off locking mechanism for electric plug connection -1- using a plastic wedge in an upward direction -a- and pull off electric plug connection.
- 4.2. Release electric plug connection -2-

) and press it into the A-pillar.
Disconnecting electric plug connection for wire harness for front left door (rear right door shown)
- Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1- for the dashboard wire harness at the left.
- Screw off fastening nut -2-
and remove ground lines from the ground point.

- Release and disconnect electric plug connection for combination sensor. → 456155 REPLACING COMBINATION SENSOR
- Loosen connector bracket -1- under the driver's seat.
- Unclip main wire harness in passenger compartment at the left and all sub-parts from holders.
- Press grommets on the sub-parts into the passenger compartment and guide all sub-parts carefully into the passenger compartment.
