Removing PCM Display And Operator Control Unit
CAUTION:
Incorrect handling of optical waveguides
- Risk of damage to optical waveguide
→ Observe the requirements for working with and installing optical waveguides.
NOTE:
Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!
- Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work.
- Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation.
- Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts.
NOTE:
Protect centre console against scratching by using a suitable cover.
- Move PDK selector lever to position D.
- Switch off the ignition.
- Cover the switch console and PDK selector lever with clean, soft cloths.
- Unscrew fastening screws -1-
and remove flap -2-
on the central computer.
Removing display and operator control unit
- Unscrew the screws under the flap.
- Carefully pull display and operator control unit together with the central computer out of the instrument panel and set them down on the padded switch console.

- Release and disconnect antenna connector -1-
and electric push-on connector -2-
on the display and operator control unit.

- Tilt display and operator control unit forward slightly, carefully unclip it from the locking lugs on the base carrier and guide it up and out.
