- B1: HYDRAULIC PIPES CHECK
- Inspect the hydraulic pipes for mounting and position.
Are the hydraulic pipes mounted and routed correctly with no interference?
- Are the hydraulic pipes mounted and routed correctly with no interference?
- Yes
- GO to B2.
- No
- Repair as necessary
- Inspect the hydraulic pipes for mounting and position.
- B2: EXCESSIVE HYDRAULIC NOISE TEST 1
- Check the fluid level in the hydraulic system.
Refer to: HYDRAULIC SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
Is the amount of hydraulic fluid greater than 350ml?
Yes
GO to Pinpoint Test C.
No
GO to B3.
- Check the fluid level in the hydraulic system.
- B3: EXCESSIVE HYDRAULIC NOISE TEST 2
- Check the oil level in the rear drive unit. Remove the level plug in the casing and measure the quantity of escaping fluid.
Is the amount of fluid greater than 25ml?
Yes
INSTALL a new rear drive unit/differential assembly.
Refer to: DIFFERENTIAL CASE .
No
GO to B4.
- Check the oil level in the rear drive unit. Remove the level plug in the casing and measure the quantity of escaping fluid.
- B4: EXCESSIVE HYDRAULIC NOISE TEST 3
- Measure the oil level in the power transfer unit.
Refer to: Transfer Case Draining and Filling TRANSFER CASE DRAINING AND FILLING .
Is the amount of oil greater than 400ml?
Yes
Install a new power transfer unit. Refer to: TRANSFER CASE - VEHICLES WITH: M66 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION AWD/9HP48 9-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - AWD .
Refer to: TRANSFER CASE - INGENIUM I4 2.0L PETROL, VEHICLES WITH: ACTIVE DRIVELINE
No
GO to Pinpoint Test C.
- Measure the oil level in the power transfer unit.
- PINPOINT TEST C : SOFTWARE CHECKS
C1: DTC CHECKS
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the all wheel drive control module for DTC P0942.
Is the DTC P0942 present?
Yes
GO to C2.
No

- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the software level of the all wheel drive control module.
Does the software require updating?
Yes
Update the all wheel drive control module software, clear the DTCs and retest the vehicle
No
Replace the electric hydraulic pump.
Refer to: ELECTRIC HYDRAULIC PUMP . Check and top up the hydraulic fluid and oil levels in the Power Transfer Unit and the Rear Drive Unit
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the software level of the all wheel drive control module.
