Removing Hinge For Convertible-Top Compartment Lid

→ Do not bend, trap or crush hydraulic lines.

→ Protect hydraulic system from contamination.

Information 

Use a marking pen to mark the position of accessories with respect to each other before removal in order to reduce the amount of adjustment work required for gaps and joints.

1. Remove locking mechanism -1-  for hinge cover -2-  .
   1. 1.1. Unclip cover in an upward direction using a suitable tool.

2. Unclip wiring harness on convertible-top compartment lid hinge.
3. Remove emergency release cable.
   1. 3.1. Remove safety clip -1-  for emergency release cable -2-  .
   2. 3.2. Disengage emergency release cable -2-  .

4. Remove safety clip -1-  on hydraulic cylinder.
   1. 4.1. Unscrew and remove fastening screw -2-  on hydraulic cylinder.

5. Disengage hydraulic cylinder and set it down on the convertible top compartment.
6. Mark the position of the hinge with respect to the bodyshell in order to reduce the amount of adjustment work required for gaps and joints. 

   Mark the contour of the hinge using a suitable tool.

   Determine the adjustment height of the hinge using a steel rule and write it down.

7. Unscrew and remove fastening screw -1-  and fastening nuts -2-  on convertible-top compartment lid hinge.

8. Remove hinge by pulling it up.
