Installing Rear Silencer

Information
- Apply a light coating of high-temperature grease (e.g. Optimoly HT, Part No. 000.043.004.00) on the clamp or pipe adapter before installation.
- Insert the silencer into the vehicle from the wheel side and move it to the installation position.
- Fit the rear silencer retaining bracket onto the holder in the wheel housing and fix in place using two new M8 lock nuts.
- Push clamp onto rear silencer connecting tube.
- Connect rear silencer to front silencer using the clamp. Fit M8 collar nut.
Check clamp installation position
- Fit the rear silencer strut onto the three-hole flange and fix in place using two new M8 lock nuts.
- Tighten threaded joints for rear silencer.
- 6.1. Mounting in wheel housing:
→ Tightening torque: 23 Nm
- 6.2. Mounting on three-hole flange:
→ Tightening torque: 23 Nm
- 6.3. Clamp mounting:
→ Tightening torque: 23 Nm
- 6.1. Mounting in wheel housing:
- Install rear silencer.
- 1.1. Position rear silencer -2- and guide it into the front silencer.
- 1.2. Screw in and tighten fastening screws -1- on the holder.
- Fit and tighten fastening screws -1- .
- Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
- 1.1. Use new metal seals.
- 1.2. Tightening torque for securing restraining straps for rear silencer to holder:
Use new restraining straps.
- 1.3. Tightening torque for securing fastening nut on catalytic converter to turbocharger:
Use new fastening nuts.
Grease studs with MicroGLEIT LP 475 .
- 1.4. Tightening torque for clamping sleeve on rear silencer/catalytic converter:
Use new clamping sleeves.
Assembly position 45°, screw head is facing to the rear
