  1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values/coding must be read out using PIWIS Tester II 9818  before removing the "old" control unit. → WM 466255 REPLACING CONTROL UNIT FOR PARKING BRAKE 
  2. Disconnect battery ground strap. → 2X00IN WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY
  3. Remove rear cover. → 705319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR COVER
