Removing Front Brake Disc

Information 

The description applies to 4-piston and 6-piston brake callipers. 

  1. Before removing the brake calliper on the wheel carrier, carry out the following work:
    1. 1.1. Release plug connection on speed sensor and disconnect it. Remove electric line from the holder on the wheel carrier.
    2. 1.2. Disconnect (release and unclip) the connector for the brake pad wear indicator (on the wheel carrier holder).
    3. 1.3. Remove holder on wheel carrier (M6 screw).

      Information 

      • Never use an impact bolter to loosen and tighten the brake calliper on the wheel carrier. 
  2. Remove fastening screws on the brake calliper -arrows-  .

    Place brake calliper onto a suitable base (e.g. universal lift). Use a suitable cloth as an intermediate layer to protect paintwork from damage.

    When positioning the brake calliper on the base, carefully guide the brake line and brake hose!

  3. Remove brake disc.
    1. 3.1. Remove fastening screws -arrows-  and take off brake disc.

      Information 

      • Central bolts (911 GT3): The wheel adapter pins do not have to be removed in order to remove the brake disc. 
    2. 3.2. 911 Turbo with central bolts:  Remove five wheel adapters and remove the brake disc.
      1. Fastening screws (5x)
      2. Wheel adapter (5x)
      3. Brake disc
      4. Wheel hub
