Converting Frame For Sliding Roof

- Installing washers (6x)
- 1.1. Affix washers -1- left and right at the fastening points of the sliding roof frame with Loctite 424.
Information
- For sliding roof frames converted for the new air deflector, the short spacer sleeves must be replaced by the long spacer sleeves.
- Remove short spacer sleeves (4x)
- 2.1. Press and hold the tab -arrow- on the spacer sleeves -1- and remove from the sides of the sliding roof frame.
- Install long spacer sleeves (4x)
- 3.1. Insert spacer sleeves -1- into the sides of the sliding roof frame; the tab must be felt to engage.
NOTE: Screws/bolts are too long- Risk of irreparable damage to component
→ Always use screws/bolts of the same length when replacing the original screws/bolts.
- Install longer fastening screws (4x)
- 4.1. Replace fastening screws -1-
at the front of the sliding roof frame.
Install only in conjunction with the long spacer sleeves.
Only if re-installing the sliding roof frame.
Information
Incorrectly fitted insulating rubbers will cause the sliding/tilting roof trim panel to rattle. If the new air deflector is used, the insulating rubbers at the front and rear of the sliding/tilting roof trim panel must be replaced with longer ones.
- 4.1. Replace fastening screws -1-
at the front of the sliding roof frame.
- Remove set of damping rubbers for slide/tilt sunroof trim
- 5.1. Remove front -1- and rear damping rubber -2- .
- Install set of damping rubbers for sliding/tilting roof trim↓
- 6.1. Remove protective film from the longer front -1- and rear damping rubbers -2- , and affix as shown in the figure or at the old position
