Installing Frame For Sliding Roof Cover
Information
To install the frame for the sliding roof cover, the mounts must be moved into horizontal position.
To do this, actuate the rocker switch or sunroof emergency release. → Information
- Guide the frame for the sliding roof panel -1- into the roof assembly frame -2- and position it on the fastening points of the holders -3- at the front and rear -4- .
- Screw in fastening screws -1-
loosely. Secure with screw locking agent -Loctite 243-
.
Information
If the mounting plates of the mounts are not braced properly against each other, the panel for the sliding roof may not function correctly. If they are not braced adequately, rattling noises can occur while driving. If they are braced too tightly, the sliding roof panel can be stiff and difficult to open and close.
- The mounting plates for the at the front -1-
and rear -2-
holders must be braced against each other. Starting at the right front and rear, insert a wide screwdriver between the holder mounting plate and the trim surround -3-

) and press the holder mounting plate outwards.
Set parallel -Mas X- to the roof assembly.
- Tighten fastening screws -4- . → Tightening torque: 7.5 Nm (5.5 ftlb.)
- Secure wire harness -2- with tie-wraps -1- .
- Engage water drain hose -2- at the right and left in the bracket and secure with tie-wraps -1- .
- Function test: Roof frame for sliding roof
To rule out a rattling frame, test drive the vehicle on an uneven surface with the sliding-roof panel open and closed. Then open and close the sliding-roof panel 5 times.
Pay attention to safety instructions!
If necessary, repeat the steps for adjusting the roof frame for the sliding roof and increase or reduce the bracing tension on the holder mounting plates.
