Preliminary Work

Information 

The replacement roof assembly frame is not a complete roof assembly and must be completed using the undamaged parts of the removed roof assembly.

  1. Remove roof assembly. → Removing Roof Module 
    NOTE: Components stored or set down incorrectly
    • Risk of damage to component surfaces

    → Set the component down on a clean surface, workbench or assembly fixture.

  2. Take the new roof assembly frame out of the package and mount it on the assembly fixture. → WM 600613 MOUNTING ROOF ASSEMBLY ON ASSEMBLY FIXTURE  
  3. Remove the wiper motor for the rear window washer. → REMOVING WIPER MOTOR FOR REAR WINDOW WASHER 
  4. Remove closing aid. → REMOVING CLOSING AID
  5. Remove motor for sliding roof at the left and right. → Removing Electric Motor For Sunroof 
  6. Remove microswitch for closing the sunroof. → Replacing Microswitch For Closing The Sunroof 
  7. Remove air deflector. → Removing Air Deflector 
  8. Remove frame for sliding-roof panel. → Removing Frame For Sliding Roof 
  9. Remove wire harness for roof assembly. → REMOVING WIRE HARNESS FOR CONVERTIBLE TOP 
  10. Remove mounting unit (drive mechanism). → 603555 REPLACING MOUNTING UNIT (DRIVE MECHANISM)
