Removing Engine Carrier

Information
Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:
- Torx screws: (E..) for external Torx, (T..) for internal Torx.
- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)

- Top left spacer sleeve

- Hexagon collar nut, M10
- Hexagon-head bolt, M10 x 80
- Special screw, M10 x 130
- Sleeve nut, M12 (internal Torx T55), engine carrier to engine mounting
- Adapter
- Active engine mounting
- Hexagon-head bolt, M8 x 75
- Top right spacer sleeve
- Unclip electric line for exhaust temperature sensor (turbocharger 4-6) on the engine carrier. -arrows-

Information
- It may only be supported over a large area at the oil pan.
- Localized loading is not permitted.
- Support the engine at the oil pan using the transmission and unit jack Junior Jack 2.0 WE 1223
and GA passenger car transmission plate WE 1224
.
- 2.1. When positioning, pay attention to the oil level sensor.
- 2.2. Unscrew two special M12 nuts -1- (internal Torx T55) on the engine mountings at the left and right.
- Unscrew special screw (a/f 16, M10 x 130) -arrow-
through the bore hole in the rear cross member.
- 3.1. Keep an eye on the spacer sleeve in the engine compartment when pulling out the screw.
Information
- When lowering, the engine must not rest on the rear axle cross member.
- Lower the engine.
- Loosen the other screws on the engine carrier.
- 5.1. Loosen and unscrew fastening screw (a/f 16, M10 x 80) -2- . Keep an eye on the spacer sleeve in the engine compartment when pulling out the screw.
- 5.2. Unscrew two M10 fastening nuts (a/f 16) -1- .
- Guide engine carrier out of the threaded bolts and remove it.
- 6.1. The intermediate flange can remain on the threaded bolts.
- Clean the engine carrier carefully and check for damage (cracks, deformation).
- The engine carrier must be replaced if it is damaged.
