Information
When raising the vehicle, take care to maintain access to the screws for the diagonal struts in the vicinity of the rear jacking points.
WARNING:
Vehicle can fall down
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle
→ Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
→ Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
→ Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
→ Raise the vehicle only at the jacking points provided.
→ The outer jacking points should be used primarily.
- Raise the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.
- Read out the fault memory using the PIWIS Tester .
- Fit protective covers on the body to prevent damage.
- Disconnect the battery and cover the terminals or battery.

- Remove both rear wheels. Use the specified special tool socket-wrench insert to avoid damage to the wheel rims → WM 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .
- Remove rear apron → WM 534855 REPLACING REAR SIDE MEMBER .
- Remove side retaining frames (heat protection) at the left and right → WM 635019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR BUMPER .
- Loosen support for rear apron on the body -2- . Turn the support towards the brake disc.
- Remove cover for rear and centre underbody
