Removing Transmission

- Remove heat shield on the transmission.
- 1.1. Unscrew three fastening screws -1- .
- 1.2. Remove heat shield -2- .
- Remove wire harness for transmission.
- 2.1. Loosen clips -1- on the wire harness.
- 2.2. Disconnect cable plug -2- from the transmission.
- 2.3. Set wire harness aside.
Information
Place cloths under the lines and connections to soak up emerging ATF. Close off open bores and connections using suitable stoppers. Remove cloths after use!
- Disconnect ATF lines.
- 3.1. Loosen holder for ATF lines by unscrewing fastening screw -1- on the transmission housing.
- 3.2. Disconnect ATF lines on the transmission by unscrewing fastening screw -1-
and pull off ATF lines -2-
.
Collect emerging ATF in a suitable container.
- 3.3. Lay ATF lines aside.
Information
Unscrew two screws securing the transmission to the drive motor at the same time as the catalytic converter holders at the left and right.
- Unclip oxygen sensor cable and breather hose.
- Remove catalytic converter.
- 5.1. Unscrew fastening screws -1 and 2- and nut -3- and remove right catalytic converter holder -4- .
- 5.2. Unscrew fastening screws -1 and 2-
and nut -2-
and remove left catalytic converter holder -4-

- Remove transmission support.
Unscrew fastening screws -2 and 5- and remove transmission support -1- .
- Loosen exhaust system holder on the transmission.
Unscrew three fastening screws -1- and bend holder -2- down.
- Loosen fastening nuts for torque converter.
- 8.1. Remove cover -1- in order to access the converter screws.
- 8.2. Use adapter T40058 to turn the crankshaft in direction of rotation of the engine only (-arrow- ) until the nut -arrow- is visible through the opening on the transmission.
- 8.3. Screw off three fastening nuts -arrow-
for the torque converter. Turn the crankshaft a further 120° to do this.
WARNING: Danger of objects or loads falling down
- Risk of squashing or crushing
→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
- Secure the engine on a lifting platform to prevent it from falling down.
- 9.1. Support the engine at the crankcase -1- by placing a support -2- and a piece of wood -3- underneath.
- 9.2. Tie down the engine using a tension strap -1- on the lifting platform -2- .
- Suspend the transmission -1- using lifting tackle 2024 A -2- and a workshop crane -3- .
- Loosen flange bolts.
- Disconnect transmission from electric drive motor.
- After removing the transmission, secure the torque converter using support bridge 30-211 A to prevent it from falling out.
