Mounting Transmission

Information 

Unscrew two screws securing the transmission to the drive motor at the same time as the catalytic converter holders at the left and right.

WARNING: Danger of objects or loads falling down
  • Risk of squashing or crushing

→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

  1. Installation is performed in reverse order. Check the following during installation.
    1. 1.1. Clean the ATF lines if the ATF is dirty or before installing a replacement transmission.
    2. 1.2. Clean the thread of screws secured with securing liquid using a wire brush. Then screw in screws using securing liquid.
    3. 1.3. Remove securing liquid residue from all threaded bores in which self-locking screws are used using a tap. Otherwise, there is a danger that the screws will break off when you try to unscrew them again.
  2. Always replace self-locking screws and nuts.
  3. Reconnect all electric connections, lines, hoses and plug connections.
    NOTE: Torque converter installed incorrectly
    • Risk of damage to transmission and torque converter

    → Always observe installation dimension

    → When securing the transmission, check that the torque converter can turn freely and is not jammed.

    → Do not use force when screwing the engine and transmission together

  4. Before installing the transmission, make sure that the torque converter is inserted correctly in the transmission.

    The installation dimension -a-  is → Control value: 18.9 mm  .

  5. Before installing the transmission, check that the dowel sleeves -arrows-  are fitted. The dowel sleeves must be fitted.
    NOTE: Torque converter installed incorrectly
    • Risk of damage to transmission and torque converter

    → Always observe installation dimension

    → When securing the transmission, check that the torque converter can turn freely and is not jammed.

    → Do not use force when screwing the engine and transmission together

    When joining the drive motor and transmission, make sure that the studs on the drive plate are flush with the converter bores.

  6. Tighten screws -1... 10-  on connection between transmission and electric drive motor and fit catalytic converter holders.→ 1001IN TIGHTENING TORQUES, TIGHTENING SEQUENCES, ASSEMBLY OVERVIEWS

    Screw on the catalytic converter holders using screws -1, 2, 4 and 5-  .

  7. Tighten three fastening nuts -arrow-  for the torque converter through the opening on the transmission. Turn the crankshaft a further 120° to do this. Fit the cover -1-  .
