Loosening Main Wire Harness In Passenger Compartment At The Right

→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

→ Observe the requirements for working with and installing optical waveguides.

1. Main wire harness in passenger compartment at the right

1. Screw off fastening nut -1-  and remove ground lines -2-  from ground point.

   Disconnecting ground lines 

2. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on airbag sensor on inner wheel arch at the rear right. → 695119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIRBAG SENSOR
3. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on seat-belt pretensioner on passenger's side. → 691119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT THREE-POINT BELT
4. Disconnect electric plug connection on wire harness for door at the rear right in the B-pillar.
   1. 4.1. Lever off locking mechanism for electric plug connection -1-  using a plastic wedge in an upward direction -a-  and pull off electric plug connection.
   2. 4.2. Release electric plug connection -2-  (-b-  ) and press it into the B-pillar.

      Disconnecting electric plug connection on wire harness for rear right door 

5. Remove sound absorber -1-  on wire harness for front right door.

   Removing sound absorber on wire harness for front right door 

6. Disconnect electric plug connection on wire harness for front right door at the bottom of the A-pillar.
   1. 6.1. Lever off locking mechanism for electric plug connection -1-  using a plastic wedge in an upward direction -a-  and pull off electric plug connection.
   2. 6.2. Release electric plug connection -2-  (-b-  ) and press it into the A-pillar.

      Disconnecting electric plug connection on wire harness for front right door 

7. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1-  for the dashboard wire harness at the right.
8. Screw off fastening nut -2-  and remove ground lines from the ground point.

   Disconnecting electric plug connections for wire harness for dashboard at the right and ground lines 

9. Loosen connector bracket -1-  under the passenger's seat.
   1. 9.1. Screw off fastening nut -2-  and remove connector bracket to the rear.
   2. 9.2. Screw off fastening nut -3- and remove ground line from ground point.

10. Screw off fastening nuts -1-  and remove ground lines at ground points.

    Disconnecting ground lines at the center tunnel 

11. Unclip main wire harness in passenger compartment at the right and all sub-parts from holders.
12. Press grommets on the sub-parts into the passenger compartment and guide all sub-parts carefully into the passenger compartment.
