Preliminary Work

  1. Remove engine.

    > 100119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE

  2. Remove transmission from engine.

    > WM 373427 REMOVING AND MOUNTING PORSCHE DOPPELKUPPLUNG (PDK) (EXCEPT PANAMERA S E-HYBRID, PANAMERA S HYBRID, PANAMERA EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA GTS, PANAMERA TURBO S,)

    > Refer to 343527 Removing and mounting transmission in the appropriate service information. 

  3. Secure engine to assembly support.

    > 1001IN SECURING ENGINE ON ASSEMBLY SUPPORT (MOUNTING BRACKET)

  4. Drain engine oil. For details, see

    > 170117 DRAINING AND FILLING ENGINE OIL (CHANGING ENGINE OIL)

  5. Remove timing chain.

    > 153519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TIMING CHAINS

  6. Remove cylinder heads.

    > 157019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CYLINDER HEAD

  7. Remove oil pan and oil guide housing.

    > 175019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL GUIDE HOUSING

  8. Remove oil pump.

    > 172019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL PUMP
