Electric Park Brake Release When The Vehicle Has No Electrical Power: Part(S)

Adjustment Step 1 Electric park brake actuator fitting kit 2

CHECK 

WARNING: Chock the wheels and make sure that all personnel are clear of the vehicle before carrying out the following procedure.
NOTE:
  • To be carried out in the event that the vehicle has no electrical power.
  • This procedure must be completed to the components on both sides of the vehicle.
  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

    Refer to: JACKING

    Refer to: LIFTING

  2. Remove the rear wheels and tires.

    Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE

  3. G11716636

    Disconnect and release the wiring harness.

  4. G11716641

    Remove and discard the parking brake actuators kits.

  5. G11589472

    Using a suitable tool, rotate piston until the parking brake is released.

    ADJUSTMENT 

  6. Install the new parking brake actuators kits.

    Renew Part: Electric park brake actuator fitting kit Quantity: 2  .

    Torque Specification: 11 Nm 

  7. Connect and secure the wiring harness.
  8. Install the rear wheels and tires.

    Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE

  9. Calibrate the electric parking brake (EPB) using the diagnostic tool.
