Component Overview

B Inner joint      
Not shown! Protective ring (transmission side only) 1 Left side only: Break (carefully) during removal in order to lever the drive shaft out of the transmission. Replace protective ring.
1 Circlip 1 Remove circlip. Do not confuse circlip no. 1 with circlip no. 3 on the inner joint. The two parts are not identical. Carefully slide the circlip onto the joint pin from above. Ensure that the circlip is seated correctly.
2 Joint 1 Remove the joint from the shaft using an aluminum mandrel and by hitting the ball hub (star-shaped inner ring) hard several times with a hammer. Fit the joint on the shaft. To do this, press circlip no. 3 together as required so that the joint slides over it easily when you tap it with a rubber hammer.
3 Circlip 1 Remove circlip carefully with a pliers. Do not confuse circlip no. 3 with circlip no. 1 on the inner joint. The two parts are not identical. Carefully slide the circlip onto the shaft from above. Ensure that the circlip is seated correctly.
4 Hose clamp, large 1 Remove hose clamp. For securing the bellows.
5 Bellows 1 Remove bellows from the shaft.  
6 Hose clamp, small 1 Remove hose clamp. For securing the bellows.
A Outer joint      
7 Hose clamp, small 1 Remove hose clamp. For securing the bellows.
8 Bellows 1 Remove bellows from the shaft.  
9 Hose clamp, large 1 Remove hose clamp. For securing the bellows.
10 Circlip 1 Remove circlip carefully with a pliers. Do not confuse circlip no. 10 with circlip no. 1 on the inner joint. The two parts are not identical. Carefully slide the circlip onto the shaft from above. Ensure that the circlip is seated correctly.
11 Joint 1 Remove the joint from the shaft using an aluminum mandrel and by hitting the ball hub (star-shaped inner ring) hard several times with a hammer. Fit the joint on the shaft. Press circlip no. 10 together as required so that the joint slides over it easily when you tap it with a rubber hammer.
