Replacing Bearing For Trailing Arm (Wheel Bearing Housing)

Pressing out

The bearing is pressed out using the hydraulic or pneumatic press. The accessory for the press is used in the example.

Position wheel bearing housing on the bearing seat in such a way that there is sufficient clearance for pressing out the bearing -arrows- .

Carefully press out the bearing using the appropriate ram (accessory for hydraulic or pneumatic press) → Pressing out bearing .

Pressing in
Place wheel bearing housing on a suitable press tool -bottom arrow- in such a way that there is sufficient clearance for pressing in the bearing. Position the bearing and press it in until the pressure increases (end position) using press tool VW 454 . Check the pressure gauge!
