Disassembling Bi-Xenon Headlights

NOTE: Ignition voltage of the gas-discharge headlight is in the high-voltage range.
  • Contact with live high-voltage components can pose health hazards or can be fatal.

→ Never work on live active electrical systems and equipment. Before getting started, de-energise the system and make sure that the system remains de-energised for the duration of the work.

Information 

Disassembling the headlight simply involves removing/installing the control unit and gas-discharge headlight components.

Do not touch the glass body of the gas-discharge headlight.

  1. Remove fastening screws -arrows-  on the control unit.

  2. Remove control unit from housing.
  3. Unclip control unit connector from the assembly cover.
  4. Remove assembly cover.
  5. Turn bayonet lock on the gas-discharge headlight holder anti-clockwise -arrow-  and remove components.

  6. Press the clamp on the holder and pull off the connector.
