Removing rear shock absorber
CAUTION:
Wheel carrier raised incorrectly
- Risk of squashing
- Risk of damage to components
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).
Information
Shock absorbers must always be replaced in pairs as soon as at least one of the following preconditions is met:
- → Mileage: 25, 000 km (15, 500 mls)
- → Age: 2 Jahre
- Lift up the wheel bearing housing.
Mounting for support T10149
- 1.1. Turn the wheel hub in such a way that a bore for a wheel bolt is at the top.
- 1.2. Support T10149 must be secured to the wheel hub with a wheel bolt -arrow-
- 1.3. Support T10149 must now be fitted into the transmission jack WE 1082.
- 1.4. Lift up the wheel bearing housing.
- Unscrew fastening screws -1-
at the top of the shock absorber.
Upper shock-absorber mount
- Only for vehicles with PASM:
Loosen PASM line from the bracket -1- and release and disconnect connector -2- .
PASM connector
- Release locking lugs -1-
and remove stone guard -2-.
Removing stone guard
- Unscrew fastening screw -2-
and remove washer -1-
.
Lower shock-absorber mount
- Remove shock absorber by pulling it downwards.
