Preliminary Work

  1. Raise the vehicle → 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE .
  2. Remove front wheels → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .
  3. Remove wheel housing liner on both sides of the vehicle → 505619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
  4. Remove front underbody panelling → 519219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR FRONT UNDERBODY .
  5. Remove front-axle support → 400819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT-AXLE SUPPORT .
  6. Unscrew fastening screws -1 and 2-  and remove heat shields at the left and right.

  7. Remove anti-roll bar → 407719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT ANTI-ROLL BAR .
  8. Remove power-steering gear → 489055 REPLACING POWER-STEERING GEAR .
  9. Remove front level sensors → 431855 REPLACING FRONT LEVEL SENSOR .
  10. Tie up wheel bearing housing on both sides of the vehicle with tension straps (e.g. strapping belts 9454  ) at the mounting saddle. → Tying up wheel bearing housing

  11. Remove lower trailing arm on both sides of the vehicle → 401719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LOWER TRAILING ARM .
  12. Support engine on the body → 1001IN SUPPORTING ENGINE ON THE BODY (ENGINE SAFETY DEVICE) .
