Removing Headliner

Information 

• Additional assembly operations must be performed on vehicles with sunroof or roof assembly.  

Information 

Make sure that the roof cover does not buckle.

Information 

• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle  .
• Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well  .

1. Unscrew and remove screws -1-  for headliner under the roof console.

2. Unclip headliner at the fixing clips close to the sliding-roof cut-out (only on vehicles with sliding roof).

   1. 2.1. Check the fixing clips on the headliner close to the sliding-roof cut-out for deformation and replace them if necessary.
3. Unscrew and remove screws -2-  on bracket for luggage compartment net cover at the D-pillar.

4. Unscrew and remove screws -1-  on bracket for luggage net cover at the sides.

5. Loosen headliner at the fixing clips -3-  at the rear of the body.

6. Carefully press roof lining down and unclip electric line -1-  at the bracket -2-  .

7. Fold over the rear seat backrest.
8. Move the driver and passenger seat all the way forward and down.
9. Move the driver and passenger seat backrest back as far as possible.
10. Three people are needed in order to remove the headliner.
    1. 10.1. Position of first person: Driver's side
    2. 10.2. Position of second person: Passenger's side
    3. 10.3. Position of third person: Luggage compartment
11. Remove headliner.
    1. 11.1. Lower the headliner -1-  on the passenger's side down as far as possible -A-  .
    2. 11.2. Pull the headliner -1-  out towards the rear through the cut-out in the tailgate -B-  .
