Installing D-Pillar Reinforcement

  1. Apply adhesive.

    1. 1.1. Evenly apply adhesive to the marked areas.

      Working with body structural adhesive → 5X00IN WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE

  2. Fit and secure inner D-pillar reinforcement together with D-pillar corner piece and D-pillar corner reinforcement.
  3. Resistance spot-weld D-pillar reinforcement.

  4. Resistance spot-weld D-pillar reinforcement.

  5. Evenly apply adhesive to the marked areas.

  9. Weld in D-pillar reinforcement.

    2. 11.2. Plug-weld lower D-pillar corner reinforcement using inert gas.
    3. 11.3. Spot-weld lower D-pillar corner reinforcement using inert gas.
  12. Weld in gusset piece.

  13. Fill D-pillar reinforcement with foam.

    1. 13.1. Fill D-pillar reinforcement with foam from the inside in the marked area. → 5X00IN PROCESSING BODY FOAM FILLER
  14. Install rear side section (roof removed). → 535555 REPLACING REAR SIDE SECTION (ROOF REMOVED)  - section on "Installing"
  15. Install rear closing panel. → 530555 REPLACING REAR CLOSING PANEL  - section on "Installing"
